PROGRAMS | HATHA YOGA


The Movement Center's yoga studio offers classes to suit a broad range of levels and interests. The quality of the program has been recognized in the Portland community, with The Movement Center being voted the #1 yoga studio in Citysearch for 2005.

Our facility underwent a complete facelift in 2004 and now features sprung hardwood floors, which are a perfect surface for hatha practice. There are two classrooms that can be combined for larger programs.

The core curriculum at The Movement Center includes classes for beginners and continuing students, with instructors who bring a variety of backgrounds to their practice. The Movement Center has a strong prenatal yoga program as well as classes for new mothers. There are also classes with a gentler approach, such as Morning Yoga Stretch, and classes designed to enhance wellness, including yoga for deep relaxation and healing yoga.

Various workshops are offered throughout the year, and we have recently begun to offer weekend retreats of hatha yoga and meditation.
