FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS How can I begin to practice meditation at The Movement Center? Join us for a Monday night program that includes a talk about our practice, guided meditation, and questions and answers. The program begins at 7:00 pm, and it's free. If you'd like more in-depth instruction, you can ask for an introduction to practice, given to individuals and small groups. Call The Movement Center office at 503.231.0383 to arrange an introduction. How do I get to The Movement Center? The building entrance for programs is accessible from NE Hassalo Street, which dead ends into our property. Parking is available in the large lot at the corner of NE 31st and NE Holladay Street. A map and directions are available here. What is the Rudrananda Ashram? The Rudrananda Ashram is The Movement Center ’s facility in Portland, Oregon, that includes a residential area as well as the main meditation hall, the Institute’s offices and the yoga studio. Can I visit the Rudrananda Ashram? If you’re in town, you’re welcome to visit. It’s best if you call the office to make an appointment so that someone is available to meet you and show you around: 503-231-0383. Can I do a personal retreat at the Rudrananda Ashram? We do not have facilities to offer personal retreats at times other than during our intensive programs. The intensives happen twice a year, in the summer and winter. Space in the ashram is limited, however, and many guests stay at locations outside the ashram during the retreats. |
