| RETREATS
Intensive practice retreats with Swami Chetanananda are held twice a year in Portland.
Each retreat lasts for 5 days and is a wonderful opportunity for members of the Institute's extended community to be
together and practice in a very focused way.
The next intensive practice retreat will be very special as we will be celebrating Swamiji's 60th birthday. The retreat will begin with class on Tuesday, July 22 and continue through July 27, 2008. We'll be celebrating Swami Chetanananda's 60th birthday with several days of homas (fire pujas), a Vajrakilaya initation, and a special concert by Alam Khan.
While each retreat is unique, daily programs generally include:
Morning meditation
Several hatha yoga sessions
Morning talk by Swami Chetanananda
Afternoon seva and/or courses
Chöd
Evening open eye class with Swami Chetanananda
